Do I need to go somewhere to apply for an e-signature from Esenyurt?
You can start on WhatsApp: we check your documents and choose the right certificate with you. The applicant must be present for the identity check, and we'll plan how that happens together. After your token is delivered, setup can usually be done remotely.
What is an e-signature?
A secure electronic signature that verifies your identity online and, under Electronic Signature Law No. 5070, has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature. Your certificate is delivered on a personal USB token.
Does an e-signature replace a handwritten signature everywhere?
In most cases, yes. By law, however, transactions requiring an official form or a special ceremony (for example, those that must be done before a notary) and guarantee agreements cannot be signed electronically.
Who can get an e-signature?
Anyone with a Turkish ID number, and foreign nationals with a foreigner ID number (yabancı kimlik numarası). An e-signature is personal; for company transactions such as e-invoicing you need a financial seal.
Which documents do I need?
A valid ID document such as a Turkish ID card, passport or residence permit. Your identity is verified during the application and you sign a certificate agreement. We'll confirm the current document list with you on WhatsApp.
How long does it take?
It depends on the certificate provider and the identity check method. If your documents are complete, it's done quickly; message us and we'll tell you the current delivery time.
How long is an e-signature valid?
E-signature certificates are usually issued for 1, 2 or 3 years. Renew before it expires to avoid interruptions.
What's the difference between an e-signature and a financial seal?
An e-signature belongs to an individual and is used for personal transactions. A financial seal is issued to a company and used for e-invoice, e-ledger and similar systems. See the full comparison on our E-signature page.
Which devices can I use it on?
You plug the USB token into your computer. The token driver and signing software need to be installed; we do this for you remotely.
I forgot my PIN or it's locked. What now?
The PIN locks after several wrong attempts. You can unlock it with your PUK code. If you don't have it, contact us and we'll resolve it with the provider.
Can someone else use my e-signature?
No. It's personal; never share your token or PIN. Use by another person creates legal liability.
What if I lose my token?
Have your certificate revoked right away. Then a new application is made, and we handle the whole process.
